How to Pray the Rosary Click here for a simple step-by-step guide to praying with the Friars
We begin praying the Rosary by using the beads that are on the small piece of chain connecting the Crucifix to the main part of the Rosary you are using.
BEGIN WITH THE SIGN OF THE CROSS
First, make the Sign of the Cross and pray the Apostles' Creed.
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
PRAY THE OPENING BEADS
On the first bead, pray the Our Father. Then pray three Hail Marys, one for Faith, one for Hope, and one for Charity, followed by one Glory Be.
ANNOUNCE THE FIRST MYSTERY
State the First Mystery and then pray the Our Father.
PRAY THE DECADE
Pray ten Hail Marys while meditating on the Mystery.
Conclude with the Glory Be.
CONTINUE THROUGH THE MYSTERIES
Announce the next Mystery, pray the Our Father, and repeat these steps as you continue through the remaining Mysteries.
CONCLUDE THE ROSARY
Pray the closing prayer, the Hail Holy Queen.
Make the Sign of the Cross to conclude the Rosary.
A CLOSER LOOK AT EACH DECADE
Each decade begins with the announcement of a Mystery, followed by one Our Father, ten Hail Marys, and one Glory Be.
As each bead passes through our fingers, may our hearts become more compassionate, more joyful, and more open to the presence of God in everyday life.

The Luminous Mysteries
Welcome to the first release of Your Monthly Rosary with the Franciscan Friars.
This month, we begin with the Luminous Mysteries, introduced by St. Pope John Paul II, as we reflect on the public ministry of Jesus and the light Christ brings into the world.
Pray along with the Franciscan Friars as each Mystery is announced, accompanied by short reflections and intentions, with time to bring your own hopes, needs, and prayers before God.
